Welcome to our Parent Information Page

Le Mourier has been teaching swimming across the island for over 45 years and we are delighted to be able to teach your little one to be confident and comfortable in the water. With over 100 years of combined experience in our senior teaching team, we uniquely design our lessons bespokely based on swimmers current ability in the water to ensure they are getting the very best tuition in the water.
As with all our venues there are eccentricities which we need to be aware of to make the most of the time in the water. This page details some of the key bits of useful information to assist as well as our Ripple Award Scheme.

Term Time Lessons
During their term time lessons they will continue to progress through their swimming journey alongside their instructors in the water.
As part of their term plan, swimmers will undertake a Distance Assessment and Survival Themed Lesson
Distance Week – typically taking place on week 7 or 8 of the term, distance week allows swimmers to swim in much smaller groups / 1 on 1 with their teacher to demonstrate their progression over the term. This will show their teacher if they are ready to move up a Ripple (See details below)
Survival Week – following on from Le Mourier’s core value of instilling water confidence and safety, our Survival week aims to continue their learning about remaining safe around the swimming pool & open water environment which is critical to enjoy island life. As they grow older this will move into Lifesaving whereby they will learn skills on how to assist a person in difficulty and who to call! Repeating these skills once a term is vital to ensure natural actions are learnt and understood from a young age.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our main office or speak to their teachers directly.

What to bring
- Properly fitted swimming costume – ideally no board shorts or bikinis please as this can sometimes change how your little one sits in the water
- Well fitted Goggles if they wear them – Teachers will be on hand to help fit them properly if needed
- Please wear their correct Le Mourier swimming hat (Orange, Red, Green, Light Blue or Dark Blue). When they move up to their next hat, they will receive this during the final lesson of the term.
Younger Swimmers
- Arm Bands if they prefer to wear their own. Please be advised the teachers may change or request useage of our armbands to ensure they have the correct buoyancy in the water.
- If applicable – Swim Nappy, if disposing of these at the pool after the session, we request that they are put in the sanitary bins located in each toilet area.

Le Mourier Ripple Award Scheme
Throughout their term time lessons, swimmers are continually progressing in their confidence, stamina and most of all technique in the swimming pool. Their progression is highlighted in our very own, Le Mourier “Ripple” scheme. Each term, swimmers will recieve an STA award badge that highlights where they are on their Ripple. As these badges work on slightly different skills, they work in parallel to each other in an order specially designed by our Senior Team of Instructors with a combined 100 years worth of experience. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and they will gladly help out.
Please find below information relating to our Ripple Award Scheme:
